Halloween Limerick Contest at Magincia Library and Museum on Nujel’m, 8pm cst 10.18.10

There will be a ‘Halloween’ themed contest on Monday, October 18th at 8pm cst. It will be held at the Magincia Library and Museum, which currently resides in the old Councilor’s Guild in Nujel’m. This month, all those wishing to attend should dress in a themed costume. Halloween masks, Polymorphs, Animal Form spells are all welcome, as are  merely dressing up in costume. Every person wishing to enter should prepare a limerick style poem that somehow ties into their chosen costume.

All entries should be written in a book that will be presented before the audience as well as passed on for judging. Winners will be decided on technique, creativity and best use of costume with limerick by Lady Silverbrook and Justicar Ra’Dian Fl’Gith. First place will take home 2 million, Second place 1 million and Third place 500,000 gold. There will also be ‘Monster’- themed trivia during the night for attendees, and each question answered will be worth 100,000 gold.

Nujel’m’s Magincia Library Hosts ‘Autumn’ Poetry Contest, 9.20.10 at 8pm cst

The second monthly literary contest at the new Magincia Library and Museum (the former Nujel’m Counselor’s Guild) will be based on the theme of ‘Autumn’. The contest will be held on Monday, September 20th at 8pm cst. Any and all are welcome to participate. Please bring a copy of your poem in a bound, red leafed book for review. Also be prepared to read it in front of those assembled for the event.

If you are unsure where the Library and Museum is, runes will be available at the High Council building in Compassion Grove as well as the estate of Lady Silverbrook on the northern most shores of Magincia. In addition, runes will be available about several banks, notably Britain, the day of the event.

The winner of the contest will win 2 million gold, the second place will win 1 million and the third place will receive 500,000 gold. As always, there will be consolation prizes and door prizes awarded. We hope to see you there, either as spectator or contestant!

20 Questions With Lady Silverbrook In Newcastle’s Wild Rose Inn, 9/6/10 8pm cst

I am pleased to announce that there will be a High Council walk in Britain this Monday, Sept 6th, beginning at 7pm cst.

At 8pm cst, the members of the High Council will be in Newcastle’s Wild Rose Inn for the tavern night there. Also at that time will be a round of ’20 Questions’ related to the history and lore of our Lands. Each correct answer will yield 250,000 gold. It is also our hope that others interested in the affairs of Britannia will show up, as well.

Please feel free to stop by for a drink and for trivia. We hope to see you there.

Monday, August 23rd 8pm cst: Haiku Contest at the Nujel’m/ Magincia Library and Museum

I am pleased to announce that a literary contest will be held Monday, August 23rd, at 8pm cst. This will be the first literary contest to be held at the location of the new Magincia Library and Museum (the former Nujel’m Counselor’s building). The contest will involve utilizing the form of haiku. So, please bring a prepared, self written haiku (please bring it, red leafed, in a book) and also be ready to read it for those assembled that evening.

There will be two million gold for the winner of the contest, one million for second place and 500,000 gold for third. In addition, there will be consolation and door prizes awarded to those who both attend and compete. Runes to the contest will be found at the High Council of Britannia, the estate of Lady Silverbrook upon the northern shores of Magincia, and distributed about most banks in Britannia the day of the contest. We hope to see you there.

How to apply for a grant, re: Magincia Endowment for the Arts and Community Affairs

* Members of any community are eligible to apply for a grant.

* Individuals can apply either at the Office for the Magincia Endowment for the Arts and Community Affairs (located on the northern shores of Magincia) or at the High Court of Britannia Office (located at Compassion Grove). Please leave some form of contact information. You can also petition via the High Council of Britannia, which meets every other Monday at 8pm cst.

* You must state the event you wish to provide for the community and what money or resources will be required to conduct the event. Financial grants for event prize money cannot exceed 5 million.

* This event, when implemented, must be advertised on community venues such as Stratics no less than three days prior to the actual event by way of [news] on the shard specific forums. An open invitation must be extended to the entire populace to attend.

* Final determination, costs and approval of the grant will be determined by Justicar Ra’Dian Fl’Gith and Lady Silverbrook. Money or resources to the event will be delivered before the event at a time agreed to by both parties.

Please note that we are not soliciting any money or resources from outside sources for these grants. In addition, the grant is being set up so that it will assist in one to two events per month, met by a ‘first come, first serve’ basis.

Magincia Endowment for the Arts and Community Affairs
